V1 Church Flight Crew Participation Policy
Purpose of Flight Crews
Flight Crews exist to cultivate spiritual growth, accountability, and genuine community. We believe in fostering an environment where all members can encourage, challenge, and support one another in their faith journey. To maintain a healthy and safe space, we have established the following guidelines.
Flight Crew Participation Guidelines
- Commitment to Unity & Respect
- All members are expected to engage with respect, kindness, and honor (Romans 12:10).
- Gossip, personal attacks, or divisive behavior will not be tolerated (Titus 3:10).
- Healthy Communication
- Members should engage in edifying conversations that build faith and unity (Ephesians 4:29).
- Excessive complaints, repeated personal grievances, or disruptive communication will be addressed.
- Emotional & Spiritual Well-being
- Flight Crews are not a replacement for therapy, pastoral counseling, or professional care.
- Members struggling with ongoing emotional, psychological, or relational issues should seek pastoral guidance and counseling resources outside of Flight Crews.
- Respect for Boundaries & Leadership
- Facilitators have the authority to redirect conversations, set boundaries, and maintain order in the group (Hebrews 13:17).
- If a member's behavior is disruptive or unhealthy, facilitators may request intervention from pastoral leadership.
- Participation is a Privilege, Not a Right
- If a participant violates these guidelines or creates an unhealthy dynamic, they may be:
- Given a verbal or written warning.
- Asked to take a temporary break from Flight Crews.
- Removed from Flight Crews entirely, at the discretion of leadership.
- If a participant violates these guidelines or creates an unhealthy dynamic, they may be:
Flight Crew Removal Policy
V1 Church reserves the right to remove or deny Flight Crew participation if:
- A member is habitually disruptive, aggressive, or emotionally volatile in a way that affects the group.
- A member repeatedly uses the group for personal grievances rather than discipleship.
- A member refuses to honor leadership, group guidelines, or correction.
- A member's presence creates an ongoing burden on the group's ability to function.
🚨 If necessary, leadership will provide alternative paths for engagement, such as pastoral counseling or mentorship, but Flight Crew participation is not guaranteed for all attendees.
Implementation & Enforcement
- Flight Crew facilitators will not be responsible for handling removal situations directly.
- Any concerns about a participant should be escalated to campus pastors or designated leadership.
- Final decisions will be made prayerfully and in alignment with biblical principles.
Closing Scripture
"Let all things be done decently and in order."—1 Corinthians 14:40 (ESV)
This policy ensures that Flight Crews remain healthy, uplifting, and God-honoring communities. We are committed to fostering freedom, unity, generosity, and excellence in all aspects of discipleship at V1 Church.
Grievance & Appeal Process
If a member disagrees with a decision regarding their participation, they may follow this process:
- Initial Discussion: The individual may request a conversation with their Flight Crew leader for clarification.
- Pastoral Review: If concerns remain, the individual may submit an appeal to the designated pastoral leadership team.
- Final Decision: After prayerful consideration, the pastoral team will issue a final decision, which will be respected and upheld.
🚫 Note: If a member has displayed patterns of ongoing disruption or manipulation, further appeals may be denied to protect the group's health.
