Is Your Prayer Life Manifesting God’s Glory?

When we consecrate ourselves and seek the Lord we become set apart. Holiness becomes a part of our lives and we no longer carry on how we used to. It is impossible to describe God’s glory truly, but we know that God longs to reveal His glory to us and in us. Our job is to position ourselves through prayer to receive it.

God’s Glory

As Christians press into God’s presence, the natural and the supernatural begin to intersect and God’s Glory begins to manifest. Time and time again in scripture we see the supernatural at work in everyday life  – A burning bush, a cloud used as GPS, the parting of the sea… etc. In those instances, we see God’s glory on display, as a result of the prayers and petitions of His children. Trying to define the glory of God is impossible because it is infinite and expands beyond time, size, measure, and anything we can explain. When that glory is experienced, however, there is no denying what was experienced, and in that special place is where transformation takes place.

The glory of God is the manifest beauty of His holiness. When God’s holiness goes public, people, in turn, are drawn to God and they want the glory of God in their lives. Where one often falls short is that God’s glory requires us all to “Come out from among them and be ye separate.” – 2 Corinthians 6:17. It is the separation that demonstrates the holiness of God. A surrendered believer knows they no longer desire to do the things they used to do in the world. You turn up differently, you react differently, and you walk, talk, and live differently. Holiness beckons those with a high calling on their lives. You can not spend time praying to God, encounter Him, and not want to be delivered from anything that separates you from the glorious God you serve.

Pastor Mike Signorelli has testified of a time he and the entire youth group he led back in Indiana, encountered the glory of God. He recalled a tangible haze entered the room and everyone's eyes beheld it.

The Bible defines Glory as a “heavyweight.” “For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison” – 2 Corinthians 4:17. To encounter God is to be marked and made new. We become new wineskins. In the natural wine-making process, the grapes are pressed down by the weight of the grape press and that is how this drink comes forth.

“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved. – Luke 5:37-38

Be Immersed In the Presence of God

Two-thirds of all Americans have already experienced an unexplained paranormal experience as revealed by a recent YouGov poll. 67% of Americans believe they experienced at least one of 13 paranormal experiences that they polled about.

People are having supernatural experiences but some churches do not know what to do with that because they are not even open to the Spirit of God themselves.

As we see from scripture, when the presence of God is in the midst of you it’s not just a feeling, Pastor Mike describes it as “a spiritual tsunami.” In Exodus 24:17  the Israelites said the glory of the Lord looked like “a consuming fire on top of the mountain.”

Christians are to pray to be completely immersed and saturated in the presence of God. It is in the place of immersion that the glory of God is manifested and even those around you who do not know God can be affected by the glory.

If you are NOT a Christian or are a believer who has not experienced the glorious presence of God, here are three things to pray about now:

1. Jesus Christ I accept you as Lord and Savior.

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation" – Romans 10:9-10

2. Fill me with The Holy Spirit.

“And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.” Ephesians 5:18

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” – Acts 1:8

3. I want the manifest glory of God all around so that even sinners can see.

“Now the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel.” – Exodus 24:17

Experience the Glory of God

Pastor Mike teaches that there are three specific things to do to experience the glory of God:

1. Pray for the glory.

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” – Romans 8:18

There is glory revealed on the outside, as pastor Mike saw with his youth group many years ago but also there is glory on the inside. Suffering unlocks the glory that is inside of you. The way we suffer reveals what we believe about who we serve. There's a glory that's not revealed in you until you suffer.

2. Prepare for the glory

The preparation is always connected to the expectation. There are levels of glory, to prepare for greater degrees of it you must learn how to walk in love. Pastor Mike teaches, “The highest degrees of faith produce the greatest dimensions of love.”

“Hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” – Romans 5:5

The more love you walk in the greater degrees of glory you experience. When Jesus saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion, not arrogance, annoyance or pride.

3. Walk in the Glory

“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” – 2 Corinthians 3:18

We are being transformed into the image of God from glory to glory.

The Glory of the Lord looks for a dwelling place. It was once in a tabernacle but after Jesus tore the veil we have become a mobile tabernacle harnessing the Glory of God.

“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” – 1 Corinthians 3:16

Prayer is a meeting place, God is the one to encounter, and His glory is the result. Press in today and let the weight of His glory fall upon you.
