Disruption Is Not Destruction: A Prophetic Guide to Navigating Sweeping Change

You wake up, scroll your phone, and feel a low-grade panic. AI moves faster than you can process. The weather is wild. Politics are a toxic mess. It feels like the ground beneath you is sliding, and you’re just trying to keep your balance.

You aren't crazy. You are living in a moment of historic disruption.

But here is what you must understand: what looks like chaos to the world is actually a divine setup for the church.

If your routine is shattered and your comfort is gone, do not panic. God is not pacing heaven’s hallways, wondering what went wrong. The shaking you feel right now is not meant to destroy you. It is meant to position you.

Your schedule, your money, and your comfort are not your security. Radical obedience is.

Why God Shakes the Monuments of Human Comfort

We love building comfort monuments—modern Towers of Babel. We design neat careers and backup plans without ever asking God what He wants.

Just because you can build it, file it, and open a bank account for it doesn't mean God has anointed it.

If you build without consulting the Father, He will eventually set His face against it.

In Manhattan, empty skyscrapers stand as monuments to money. Decades ago, they lit up windows with Easter crosses. Today, they flash Netflix ads. We traded Jesus for pure idolatry in fifty years. But God is not mocked. He is shaking the skyscrapers, the financial systems, and your personal comfort.

In Hebrews 12, God warns He will shake both earth and heavens so that what cannot be shaken remains. Shaking is a filter. It separates a comfortable church from a remnant that actually carries the fire of God.

When God shakes the ground beneath you, it’s not to destroy you—it’s to shake off what doesn't belong.

The Sons of Issachar: Moving from Survival to Obedience

The sons of Issachar (1 Chronicles 12:32) had "understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do." They understood their season and knew exactly how to act.

Most people today are just trying to survive. You medicate anxiety with alcohol, weed, and pornography, trying to numb a changing world. You see the chaos, but you have zero discernment.

Let’s be completely honest. Some of you are hiding. You scroll social media for hours because reality is too intense. You call it "unwinding." I call it spiritual cowardice. God didn’t call you to check out. If you wait for a comfortable time to obey, you will die waiting.

Stop trying to survive a season God designed for you to conquer.

"Discernment is not knowing enough to be afraid," I often say. "Discernment is knowing enough to obey."

If discernment only leads to doomsday prepping—stockpiling food—you've missed the entire point. Preparation is not panic. God isn't looking for doomsday preppers; He's looking for kingdom builders.

When you align with God, supernatural blessing covers you. But you must surrender first. The kingdom is upside down: you only find your life when you are willing to lose it.

If your discernment only makes you afraid, you don't have discernment. You have anxiety.

Navigating the "Time Before the Time"

We live in exponential acceleration. Daniel 12:4 describes a time when "many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."

Look around. AI is expanding at an insane rate—Google's models are 300 times more efficient than two years ago. Translation AirPods and humanoid robots are already here.

This technological and medical acceleration is the "time before the time."

It is a brief window of opportunity. Before an Antichrist system hijacks these tools—just as genetic boundaries were breached in Noah's day—they are weapons for our harvest. Stop demonizing technology because you lack wisdom. What once took a massive crew is now a one-person job.

Before technology becomes a tool of the enemy, it must be a weapon in the hands of the righteous.

We are entering a golden era of wealth transfer. As I always say, "If a selfish man gets wealthy, it changes his family. If a selfless, righteous man gets wealthy, it changes his city."

Radical Acts of Surrender in the Midst of the Storm

This isn’t theory. We are seeing this raw power break out across V1 Church right now.

During an Indiana storm, our campus pastor, Pastor Lavert, worked 12 hours a day cutting branches. He called me crying, feeling inadequate. I told him: "Lavert, if you're asking how to do more in a storm, you're already doing enough."

They opened a food pantry, but Lavert and his wife, Pastor Sharita, knew groceries weren't enough. They set up a baptismal pool outside. Hungry people waiting in line got baptized in their clothes. They came for food and left with the Bread of Life. Meanwhile, in Brooklyn, Pastor Ivan preached outside Williamsburg nightclubs, leading clubgoers straight into baptismal waters.

This requires sacrifice. I remember founding member Ivan Marty. He championed small groups, saying: "Pastor Mike, you preach in rows, and I'll preach in circles." Ivan tragically died of sickle cell anemia, leaving a newborn son. We prayed and fasted, but healing didn't come. Today, gene therapy is curing sickle cell. Ivan was just a few years away from his miracle.

We believe in both miracles and medicine. Cure an unrighteous person, they just get more time to sin. Cure a righteous person, and you send a healthy soldier back into the field.

The 21st-century church must look exactly like the 1st-century church.

Will You Stand When the Fire Comes?

Your life will eventually be tested by the fire of God's judgment. Every idle word, every decision, and everything you built will be reviewed. If you spent your life building wood, hay, and stubble for your own comfort, it will burn. Only what you did for eternity will remain.

Are you ready to stop being passive?

Recently, I led a hundred people to the ruins of Ephesus in Turkey. The guide warned: "They know who you are. Do not pray or worship. Just teach history, or face consequences." That is the absolute worst thing you can tell me.

We walked in, and I preached how Paul's revival collapsed Ephesus' idol economy. As Muslim guards closed in, I declared Jesus is Messiah, not just a prophet, and told our group to pray. The guards screamed, but we kept our hands high. I said "amen" just before they could arrest me.

Demons don't care if you read Bible stories as if characters were distant heroes. But the moment you realize the Bible is not the story of what happened, but what always happens, hell gets intimidated. The same Holy Spirit in Paul is in you.

Demons don't care if you read the Bible. They tremble when you start living it.

Let's build a house that stands when the fire falls. Show up. Commit. Let's take back what the enemy stole.
